Summer Camp FAQs
FAQ
How can I register for camp?
PEEC utilizes CampBrain, a camp-specific registration software, to facilitate all sign ups. This allows users to keep track of all of their registration details and provides a user-friendly interface to make payments, upload paperwork, and adjust programs and add ons.
To learn more about the registration process, visit our Registration Overview page.
What dates are available?
Availability will always be most accurately reflected through CampBrain– whatever is available to select is where we have remaining spaces. Once a session reaches capacity for an individual age group, you will be given the option to join the waitlist instead. Our waitlist varies, and while we are not able to guarantee a spot for individuals on the waitlist, it does often happen that we are able to accommodate later down the line.
To see our dates, rates, and weekly themes for the 2026 season, visit our Summer Day Camp page.
What is the timeframe of a camp day?
Camp drop off takes place from 8:45 to 9:15 each morning, and pick up takes place from 3:45 to 4:15 each afternoon. For an additional charge, parents can also opt into extended day options. Before Care allows for drop off as early as 8am, and After Care allows for pick up as late as 5pm. We are unable to accommodate campers earlier than 8am or later than 5pm.

What activities are included in a camp day?
Campers are kept active, engaged, and having fun with a structured day of hands-on PEEC activities. Daily schedules are built to provide PEEC’s specific brand of environmental education through games, crafts, exploration, and interactive activities. This can take the form of hiking on PEEC’s trail, collecting macroinvertebrates from our ponds and streams, building shelters of different wildlife, playing familiar games with natural themes, and so much more. There’s no better place for campers to find summer fun in the outdoors and come away with natural knowledge and curiosity!
Each week will include at least one PEEC trail, tie dye, water play (excluding Senior Naturalists), and an “all camp” activity.

Is swimming a part of Summer Day Camp programming?
While our program has included swimming in various locations in past years, we have moved to offer water play in place of traditional swimming as we strive to keep safety as a top priority. Water play includes age-appropriate, staff-supervised, structured and unstructured activities to help campers beat the summer heat.

What paperwork is required to register my child for Summer Day Camp?
PEEC requires all families to complete both digital forms and upload medical documentation as part of our risk management policies.
Fillable forms are included in CampBrain registration, and are required to allow camp staff access to all necessary information to provide a safe and successful camp experience for each individual camper.
Families are required to upload a copy of each camper’s most recent physical exam, immunization records, and the front and back of an insurance card. This paperwork should be uploaded directly into CampBrain.
To learn more about forms and paperwork, visit our Registration Overview page.
Do I have the option to pick up my camper early or drop them off late if we have appointments or other obligations?
We are always happy to work with families’ schedules in these situations. If your camper needs to be dropped off or picked up outside of traditional time windows, we ask for advance notification so we can be appropriately prepared to work with your timeline. Upon arrival, please proceed to the front desk in the main building, located immediately adjacent to the parking lot. Our front office staff will help in connecting you with your camper’s group.
How are staff trained to keep campers safe?
All PEEC camp staff spend a full week training to ensure both safety and quality of programming, and undergo background checks prior to working with our campers. Safety training includes PEEC-specific safety procedures, risk management in working outdoors, and a certification in basic first aid and CPR/AED. PEEC adheres to the American Camping Association standards in staff to camper ratios, which differs amongst age groups.

Are there any deadlines for registration?
Registration opens on Monday, November 17th and remains open until the Monday before each session, or until spaces are filled. Each age group has its own capacity per week, and age groups for certain weeks have reached their capacity. As such, we always advise registering early to secure spaces.
