Do you have restroom facilities?

Yes, our main building and restrooms are available every day from 8:30am-4:30pm, with the exception of major holidays.

Are dogs allowed on your trails?

Yes, dogs are allowed as long as owners keep them leashed and clean up after them. Pets, however, are not allowed within our buildings or cabins.

Do you have a waterfall?

Yes, hikers can access our waterfall off the 3-mile Tumbling Waters hiking trail. Please see our hiking page for more information.

Are your cabins available to rent?

Yes, our cabins all come with heat, electricity, and indoor plumbing. Guests do need to bring their own pillows, sheets, and personal toiletries. Call us for availability and rates.

Cabins do not have kitchens or kitchenettes and meals are not included with cabin rentals. If you are interested in an all-inclusive stay, our Family Camp Weekends include lodging, meals, and activities. For specific details and dates, see our Family Camp Brochure.

Are RVs allowed on your property?

RVs are only allowed for guests that are visiting us just for the day.  National Park regulations prohibit overnight car camping and overnight usage of RVs at our center.

Are your trails stroller or wheelchair friendly?

Most of our trails are not stroller or wheelchair friendly. However, our Trail-for-Everyone is wheelchair and stroller accessible. See our hiking page for more information.

Are bikes allowed on your trails?

Bikes are not allowed.

Can we rent your outdoor equipment?

Our program equipment can only be used during our scheduled public programs. See our public program calendar for more information.

Are there any visitor fees to hike?

There are no fees to hike and explore our trails. PEEC is a non-profit and relies on the generosity of donors and members. Your support is appreciated!

When are you open?

Our trails are open every day from dawn to dusk. With the exception of major holidays, our main building is open every day from 8:30am-4:30pm.

Is the Ecozone exhibit room open today?

The EcoZone is primarily used for schools and other groups on campus. Check out our public program calendar to see when it will be open next for the public.

What is your refund policy for public programs, overnight workshops, and family camps?

Family Camps & Workshops:

  • Deposits are non-refundable, but will be held for use for 1 year.

Public Programs:

  • PEEC has a 2-week cancellation policy.
  • A service fee will be withheld on credit card refunds.
  • Refunds will be not be granted for cancellations less than 2 weeks from the program date.
