Ridgeline Trail
3 Hours, 5 Miles, Moderate
Follow the Yellow blazes which start at the bridge located at the north end of the Main Building parking lot. The trail wanders through oak/hickory forests, hemlock ravines, and old fields. You will pass several wetland areas and the remnants of an old homestead. The terrain is hilly and at one section guide cables are used on a steep decent.
Tumbling Waters Trail
2-3 Hours, 3 Miles, Moderate
Follow the Orange blazes which start east of the Visitor Education Center. One mile from the start you'll be rewarded with scenic vistas of the Delaware Valley and the Kittatinny Mountains. After 1.5 miles a side trails zig zags down to a Hemlock Ravine and two waterfalls.
Scenic Gorge Trail
1 Hour, 2 Miles, Easy/Moderate
Follow the Red blazes as they wind through a hemlock ravine and along a stream. During seasons of significant rainfall, portions of the trail may be muddy. You may want to wear waterproof shoes.
Fossil Trail
1 hour, 1.25 Miles, Moderate
Follow the Blue blazes down the escarpment. Along the bedrock out crop you can find fossils of small marine organisms. Feel free to hunt for fossils, but please leave them for others to admire. National Park regulations prohibit the removal of fossils from the area.
Two Ponds Trail
1 Hour, 1.5 Miles, Easy
Follow the White (white) blazes and the numbers that correspond to the interpretive guide you can pick up in the Visitor Education Center. From PEEC's front porch, face the parking lot and head diagonally to your right until you find the boardwalk. On the boardwalk, there is a bird blind in which you can observe wildlife in the shrubby area adjacent to the Front Pond. The trail then heads upland from the pond, crosses a small stream and continues diagonally across Briscoe Mountain Road. The trail will take you through a Red and Scotch Pine plantation and around Pickerel Pond.
Sensory Trail
This short, quarter-mile trail is intended to be a sensory experience in which the hiker is blindfolded before starting. A rope guides the user around the loop. Blindfolds may be obtained from the Visitor Education Center. The trail starts across the road from Cabin #39.
