Member $20/Non-Member $25
Instructor: Kathy Ambrosini, Author, 'Making Outdoor Programs Accessible'

This workshop will provide specific examples of strategies that you can use immediately to make your programs more inclusive of people with disabilites. The workshop looks at a variety of challenges to learning, and the aids and interpretive strategies that will enable ALL your participants to get the most from their outdoor experience.
Content includes accessible instruction, accommodations, alternative formats and adaptive technologies. Tips and tricks from the award winning 'Nature Access' program will be shared. Workshop cost includes: training, instructional book, light snacks and participants also receive a copy of Kathy's book "Making Outdoor Programs Accessible"
Inclusion Program sponsored in part by funding from the PA Blue Ribbon Foundation and the Christopher Reeve Quality of Life Foundation

Integrating Environmental Education Across the Curriculum
November 17, 2007
9 a.m. 4 p.m.
Member $60/Non-Member $65
Learning about the environment does not mean it has to be about far away places and environmental problems; it does not have to be a whole new subject added to the curriculum. Presenter Dan Kriesberg will show educators how environmental education can be integrated throughout the curriculum in a way that increases a child’s sense of wonder, knowledge, reverence and joy for the place in which they live. This workshop will provide teachers with practical, hands-on environmental education activities and lessons that will help meet learning standards in math, science, technology, English language arts, social studies, as well as other curriculum areas. |
