Bird Watching
Christmas Bird Count

Natural History & Park Tours

Natural History Tour of Chincoteague & Assateague Island with John Serrao
April 26-29, 2007

Join naturalist John Serrao as he takes you on excursions around Chincoteague and neighboring Assateague Island to witness spectacular views of seascapes, birds, and the majestic Wild ponies.  A canoe trip in the northern most cypress swamp will be included. Price includes a three-night hotel stay, continental breakfast each morning, entrance fees, canoe trip and guided excursions by John Serrao. (Cost includes hotel accommodations, continental breakfast, entrance fees into Assateague Island , canoe trip and program. Remaining meals and transportation to Chincoteague not included). Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area Tours

Natural History Tour of Colorado

Ideal for those with a variety of interests, this week-long trip will offer a general view of the natural history of Colorado . Explore different types of ecosystems from semi-desert to alpine. Visit various habitats to look for the best plant life, wild animals, geology, and cultural history Colorado has to offer with the staff at The Nature Place. Program includes educational and adventure program, overnight accommodations at The Nature Place, all meals from dinner on arrival day through breakfast on departure day, use of site facilities, transportation during the program and round-trip ground transportation from Colorado Springs Airport (transportation to Colorado not included). Natural History Tour of Costa Rica 2008

Spend 12 days hiking and camping with Tom Miller and Dan Chamberlain within the national parks and reserves of Northern Costa Rica and see exotic birds, primates and reptiles. Integrating Environmental Education Across the Curriculum

Learning about the environment does not mean it has to be about far away places and environmental problems; it does not have to be a whole new subject added to the curriculum. Presenter Dan Kriesberg will show educators how environmental education can be integrated throughout the curriculum in a way that increases a child’s sense of wonder, knowledge, reverence and joy for the place in which they live. This workshop will provide teachers with practical, hands-on environmental education activities and lessons that will help meet learning standards in math, science, technology, English language arts, social studies, as well as other curriculum areas.
