CAMP COUNSELOR POCONO ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION CENTER
Description:
Day Camp Counselors are responsible for the care of those children enrolled in the program. PEEC’s counselors provide leadership in program activities, are an appropriate role model, and assist the Camp Coordinators & the Camp Director in all aspects of the program. They are crucial in adding energy and enthusiasm to the program; while meeting the daily needs of children.
Specific Responsibilites:
- Provide opportunities for each child to experience a successful program
- Enthusiastically participate in all program activities with children
- Actively promote an environment that is safe and fun for all the children in the program
- Assist with snacks, meals, set-up and clean-up of each days program
- Assist children and the Camp Director with arrival and departure procedures
Qualifications:
- Must be 16 years of age or older
- Strong interest & enthusiasm for the outdoors and sharing nature and the environment with children
- Ability to present a professional appearance, punctuality, demonstrated responsibility
- Ability to work with children ages 3 – 12.
- Previous experience with summer camps is preferred
- First Aid, CPR, and Lifeguard certifications a plus
Dates of Responsibilites:
June 9th – 13th 2008: Staff Training
June 13th - August 15th: Summer Camp
